Here is a good article on John Kerry's voting record in the Senate. It goes on to give explanations for any "out of character" votes and describes Kerry's consistency. There are many floor quotes from the Senator as well. A good bit on the voted for it voted against it Iraq thing, it actually explains that action pretty well, and it makes sense to me.
